Typically in spring, students in grades 5-8 can participate in our school play. There is a friendly open audition process for actors. Student stage crew, pit band and other needs are at the producer's discretion based on adult volunteer supervision/help and other factors. Productions are headed by BHCS leadership with directors who change each year. Students who participate must follow all regular rules and procedures, attend all rehearsals (unless they are absent from school) and performances. Shows in the past include;

Garden Club
Advisors: Heather Nelson & Cori Carter
Garden Club at BCHS meets year-round to dig in the dirt, learn about gardens, and eat healthy snacks! With participation starting in Grade 2, students maintain the school greenhouse and vegetable gardens. We have nurtured the flower gardens around the school and have even helped with some of the plantings on Main Street in Blue Hill.
Math League
Advisors: Sharon Longley & Sean Stoddard
Our mathletes are from Grades 6-8; up to two teams per grade. BHCS is part of the Eastern Maine Math League. There are three meets each year in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Fall and Winter meets are held locally, the Spring meet is held at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor, Maine.

Odyssey of the Mind
Advisors: Nell Herrmann
Odyssey of the Mind provides students in grades 5-8 with a place to learn today’s creative problem-solving skills while having fun!
Odyssey of the Mind has been the world’s greatest creative problem-solving program since it began in 1978. What started as a project for students in a single industrial design class has grown into a worldwide program that has reached multiple generations, allowing students to learn, develop, and employ skills related to teamwork, resource management, designing and making, divergent thinking, and so much more.
