Library

The BHCS library is a place where students and staff feel comfortable to discuss a variety of topics, find answers to questions, and explore who they are and their place in our community and world.

Collection

At the heart of BHCS is the library which is home to a collection of over 10,000 books to meet the educational and recreational reading needs of the students.

The collection is curated to align with the units of study and standards in each grade to support the curriculum needs of teachers.

Curriculum

All students are empowered to be critical thinkers and seekers of information to meet their academic and personal needs.

Through weekly library classes, students in PreK - 2 have opportunities to engage with literature in a variety of formats, discover books and topics they wish to explore and learn basic library skills.

In grades 3-8, students focus on research skills, reader reflection, award-winning literature, and evaluating resources.

Events & Special Programs

The Library also promotes literacy through outreach activities such as BEAR (Be Enthusiastic About Reading) Night, BHCS’ Scholastic Book Fair, Read Across America Day, and author visits.
